Plutarch (/ˈpluËtÉ‘rk/; Greek: ΠλοÏταÏχος, Ploútarkhos, Koine Greek: [plÅËtarkÊ°os]) then named, on his becoming a Roman citizen, Lucius Mestrius Plutarchus (ΛοÏκιος ÎœÎστÏιος ΠλοÏταÏχος),c. 46 – 120 AD,[citation needed] was a Greek historian, biographer, and essayist, known primarily for his Parallel Lives and Moralia.
